CarrollCounty

This public Listening Session provides an opportunity for community input on the
review and update of the Freedom Community Comprehensive Plan. This Listening Session will take place at
Sykesville Middle School’s Media Center on Wednesday, January 30
th
beginning at 7 pm. The school is located at
7301 Springfield Avenue in Sykesville.
Freedom’s comprehensive plan will examine future land use patterns, transportation networks,
community facilities, recreational features, and natural resource. The updated Freedom plan will
incorporate community consensus to aid in defining the future of this region of Carroll County.
Residents are strongly encouraged to join in this discussion.
As the project progresses, additional input opportunities will be provided. County planning staff is
also available to visit with interested Freedom area groups, organizations and clubs at their regularly
scheduled meetings or events to continue these Listening Sessions. This approach provides accessible,
convenient opportunities for citizens to participate without adding new burdens to already over-taxed schedules.
